It was a close call for a pedestrian at a Fort Lauderdale intersection after they were nearly killed by a red light runner in an incident that was captured on video.

The camera captured the crash just after 5 a.m. on April 15 at the intersection of Federal Highway and State Road 84.

In the video, a car is shown running through a red light and slamming into another car before hurtling toward a pedestrian crossing the street, who narrowly avoided getting killed.

According to a Fort Lauderdale Police crash report, the drivers of both cars were taken to Broward General Hospital.

The company American Traffic Solutions released the video to show the importance of red light cameras and deter drivers from running red lights.
