    The new carry-on charges go into effect on Nov. 6, according to the airline's website.

    The price hike will effect customers who purchase the carry-on option at the gate. The current price is $45.

    Spirit Airlines will begin charging flyers for bringing carry on bags on board.

    Purchasing carry-ons online will go from $30 to $35. Several other bag option purchases will increase between $5 and $10, while some international baggage fees will actually be reduced.

    The budget airline says their baggage fees helps keep base fares low for its customers.

    The South Florida based airline says it's considering having passengers pay to talk to a human at the airport.

    "We empower customers to save money on air travel by offering ultra low base fares with a range of optional services for a fee, allowing customers the freedom to choose only the extras they value," the company's website said.
