Suspect Who Fondled Girl During Burglary Surrenders to Authorities: Police

Man wanted for fondling girl during break-in at Lauderhill home caught

The suspect wanted for breaking into a Lauderhill home and fondling a 12-year-old girl while she was sleeping surrendered to authorities, police said.

Tyrone Clarence Thomas, 30, turned himself into the Lauderhill Police Department Thursday night and was booked into the Broward County main jail, Lauderhill Police said Friday.

He was charged with burglary and lewd or lascivious molestation and was being held on $15,000 bond. It was unknown whether he has an attorney.

Thomas, who was earlier identified by police as Tyrone Turner, is accused of breaking into a home in the area of Broward Boulevard and Route 441 the morning of July 31, police said.

He fondled the young girl while she was sleeping and fled out the home's back door, police said.
