Woman Found Fatally Shot in Street: Cops

She was pronounced dead at the scene

Miami-Dade Police were investigating after a woman was found fatally shot in the street on Tuesday morning.

Police said the woman, who is in her 60s, appeared to have been shot in the back, and she was pronounced dead at the scene in Opa Locka. She was found near her apartment around 6 a.m.

Authorities were in the area in reference to a robbery at a bus bench at 137th Street and 22nd Avenue, but it wasn't immediately clear if the death was related to that.

No other details were immediately released.

Neighbor Rosa Madrine told NBC Miami that people in the apartment complex knew that the woman had saved money to buy a car and she was going to go buy it Tuesday.
