Last time we checked, these symbols were not those of the Miami-Dade PD.

Hey, maybe he was just trying to help some local kids along the path to probable Dolphins ownership!

Or maybe not.

Former police officer Jorge Delgado, 31, has been sentenced to two years in prison and three years probation for his role in a drug smuggling operation that was really an FBI sting. He admitted using his marked Miami-Dade patrol car to protect and serve a shipment of what he thought was ecstasy in exchange for $2,500.

(Oh man, dude, know what it must have been like when he found out that the drugs weren't drugs and those dudes weren't dealers at all? It must have been like being on drugs, bro!)

In July, Delgado was charged with aiding and abetting an attempt to possess ecstasy with the intent to distribute, and pled guilty. The three-year veteran of the MDPD, who was working uniformed road patrol at the time of his involvement, faced up to 20 years in prison.

In uniform, using his marked police vehicle and dealing drugs and he gets a lousy 2 years....any civilian would have gotten at least 3 times that just for dealing. This is why South Florida law enforcement agencies have become a joke around the country. I do not understand how so many "officer's of the law (yeah right)" get off with a slap on the hand for things anyone else would be behind bars for, for much longer. He should have had time added because he did this while on duty. I have friends and family call me from other areas and tell me jokes they have heard about our police officers. I didnt read anything in the article that suggested the officer was ever involved in the drug trade prior to the sting operation.<br />you can get alot of people to do anything if the price is right. its those criminals that go out of their way to sell drugs without encouragement from undercover cops that are the problem.
