Would-Be Robbers, Brinks Guards Exchange Gunfire in Hollywood

No injuries reported after bullets fly at Bank of America

Police are searching for suspects after a shootout between Brinks guards and two men who attempted to rob them erupted on the streets of Hollywood Tuesday morning.

The attempted robbery happened at the Bank of America on the 1900 block of Tyler St. shortly after 7 a.m. as the Brinks guards arrived to service the drive-thru ATM.

That's when police say two robbers approached the guards and demanded money. The two groups began to exchange gunfire, before the suspects fled the scene in a silver Toyota Camry without getting any loot.

Neither guard was hit by any bullets. It's unknown if either suspect was hit.

Police and FBI agents are on the scene investigating the incident.
