One robbery suspect was recovering at a hospital and another is in custody after a police-involved shooting in Hallandale Beach Thursday, authorities said.
According to Hallandale Beach Police, a neighbor noticed two young men making their way into the home at 831 SW 3rd St. and called police.
Officers arrived soon after, making their way inside the home and finding the two men trying to escape, police said.
“At some point when they saw the police officer, they tried to run outside the home, and at that point one of our officers felt threatened for his safety and for his life, and was forced to fire upon the suspect,” Capt. Sonia Quinones said.
The suspect's injuries are not life-threatening, according to police.
The block was shut down as police investigated.
