Authorities say one of two twin toddlers pulled from a backyard pool in Palm Beach County on Thanksgiving Day has died.
The incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. at a home located at Kudza Road and Forest Hill Boulevard near West Palm Beach, NBC affiliate WPTV reports.
Bystanders pulled the children, both about one-year-old, out of the pool and tried to revive them before Palm Beach County Fire Rescue arrived to take them to the hospital. Family members said the boys were breathing on their own.
However, on Friday, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said one of the toddlers died from his injuries. The other was listed in critical condition.
Deputies stayed on scene in the hours following the incident, moving in and out of the house.
It's unclear how long the boys were under water and how they ended up there.
