Judge Warns Hialeah Men Not to 'Accidentally' Catch Anymore Alligators

Two Hialeah men were in bond court Thursday after they were caught trying to fish an alligator in Broward. The men told authorities they caught the big lizard by accident. When Broward Judge John Hurley released the men without bond, he warned them to stay away from alligators because they may catch one again by accident.

An alligator has been caught after joining beachgoers for a swim in Naples.

The Naples Daily News reports the gator went swimming between Bonita and Barefoot beaches Saturday morning.

Witnesses alerted Collier County park rangers and an alligator handler responded to the scene. The trapper was able to successfully remove the 3-foot, 8-inch gator from the beach.

The rangers believe the recent bout of heavy rain and flooding might have washed the gator into the Gulf.
