Artwork Honors Slain Journalist Steven Sotloff

The family of a South Florida journalist killed by ISIS militants will attend an art exhibit in Fort Lauderdale Tuesday that will feature a memorial artwork.

Steven Sotloff's family will attend the Greenspoon Marder Foundation's Community Arts Partnership, which will unveil the piece in tribute to Sotloff.

The event takes place at Greenspoon Marder Law and features four floors of artwork.

Sotloff, a 31-year-old Miami native who freelanced for Time and Foreign Policy magazines and studied journalism at the University of Central Florida, was killed by the Islamist terrorist group ISIS in a video released in September.

He had vanished a year before in Syria and was not seen again until he appeared in an ISIS video that showed fellow journalist James Foley's beheading.

Any of the proceeds from the paintings sold Tuesday will go to charity.
