An 82-year-old man was struck and killed while riding a bicycle in Tamarac.

An 82-year-old man was struck and killed while riding a bicycle in Tamarac.

An 82-year-old bicyclist was killed after he was struck by a van in Tamarac Monday morning, officials said.

The crash happened in the area of McNab Road and Northwest 70th Avenue around 8:30 a.m., Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.

The cyclist, Oscar G. Aleman, was taken by air to Broward Health Medical Center, where he later died, officials said.

Officials said the 45-year-old driver stayed at the scene.

The cause of the crash is being investigated, the BSO said.
