A man was struck and killed by a vehicle early Sunday, when he ran out into the eastbound lanes of Interstate 595, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Herson pulled off the roadway, where both people got out of his vehicle and the fight continued, the agency said.

At some point, Herson tried to run away, going into the eastbound lanes of I-595. He was struck and killed by a 2012 Chrysler, driven by Mandy M. Horner, 29, of Huntington Beach, Calif.

Herson was pronounced dead at the crash site. The name of Herson’s passenger wasn’t released.

No criminal charges have been filed pending the outcome of an investigation.
