A 71-year-old man was arrested for fondling a 5-year-old boy during private religious studies at the man's home in Pembroke Pines, police said.
Masroor Ahmed Syed faces a count of lewd and lascivious molestation on a child under 12, Pembrokes Pines Police said. Syed was being held in jail without bond, and it wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney.
The child's family notified police on July 17 that the boy was possibly molested by Syed. The boy's parents said their son had been going to Syed's home for more than nine months for religious studies, authorities said.
No Bond For Man Accused of Raping Girl
Police said that on numerous occasions, Syed would fondle the boy's genitals.
Authorities said they weren't sure how many children studied privately at Syed's home.
