Emotional Memorial for Lynn Haiti Quake Victims
Campus shutting down to remember students and faculty killed in disaster

Students and faculty from Lynn University in Boca Raton who went to Haiti.
The six members of Lynn University's "Journey of Hope" to Haiti who died in the destructive earthquake that hit the island on Jan. 12 will be remembered today at a public memorial at the Boca Raton school's campus.
Classes have been canceled for the 1:30 p.m. remembrance for the four students and two faculty who were killed when their Port-au-Prince hotel crumbled in the devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake.
It took over a month for rescue workers to recover the bodies of the students and staff from the rubble of the Hotel Montana.
The group had arrived in Haiti just a day before the quake hit. Eight students who were part of the group survived the disaster.
The deceased include Britney Gengel, 19, from Rutland, Mass., Courtney Hayes, 23, of Douglas, Ga., Christine Gianacaci of Hopewell, N.J., Stephanie Crispinelli of Katonah, N.Y., and professors Dr. Patrick Hartwick and Dr. Richard Bruno.
Parents and other family members of the deceased are expected to be at today's memorial, and Lynn President Kevin Ross and VP of Academic Affairs Cynthia Patterson will be speaking.
