Father Killed in Miramar Home Invasion

Police investigate after father of three slain at home

A father of three was killed Tuesday night during an apparent home invasion robbery in Miramar.

Police said a group of suspects wearing masks targeted the home at the 8300 block of Sherman Circle around 11 p.m., as several people were at the residence.

Relatives said 33-year-old Raymond Adderly, a father of three young boys aged 3, 5 and 7, was killed after he had returned from a holiday party.

"Some cowards just came and took his life unnecessarily," said Aderley's brother-in-law, Gentry Chambers. "He was coming from a Christmas party for his kids and it's hazy at that point, we're all just in shock, and it's awful that it had to happen like this and it's awful that my nephews and my sister have to go through this during the holidays."

Chambers said Adderly was an aspiring musician and that he watched his kids while his wife worked.

Police said the suspects fled in a car and that they are still interviewing witnesses. They didn't say how Aderley was killed but said it does not appear to be a random act.
