Five correctional employees have been suspended and a warden has been transferred after an inmate's suspicious death at a north Florida prison.

The Department of Corrections announced those actions Friday, a day after the agency confirmed a criminal investigation was under way.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is looking into the death last month at Union Correctional Institution in Raiford.

The prison agency's inspector general also is investigating other use-of-force complaints there. Assistant Warden Nan Jeffcoat and four correctional officers have been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the results of those investigations.

Union's former warden, Barry Reddish, transferred Friday to Lawtey Correctional Institution, a faith- and character-based prison also in Raiford.

Diane Andrews, formerly warden at Madison Correctional Institution, replaced Reddish at Union.
