Florida Mom Accused of Killing Her Son in 1991 Won't Testify

A man who defense lawyers have raised as an alternative suspect in the killing of a 5-year-old boy has denied any role in the child's death.

Bernard McShane took the stand Wednesday in the murder trial of Michelle Lodzinski. She's charged with killing her son, Timothy Wiltsey, when she lived in New Jersey in 1991.

A defense witness had testified last week that McShane told him he had killed the child. But the Arizona man rebutted those claims, saying he had never been to New Jersey before he traveled to the state to testify.

McShane's testimony came one day after Lodzinski told the judge she would not testify.

Lodzinski now lives in Florida. She was arrested in 2014, a few years after prosecutors reopened the case.
