Free Microchips Offered for Cooper City Pet Owners

Officials are helping pet owners keep track of their dog or cat by offering free microchips for Cooper City residents.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office and VCA Rock Creek Animal Hospital are hosting a free “Chip-A-Pet" event on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the BSO Cooper City Disctrict Office located at 10580 Stirling Road.

Microchip’s help identify lost pets to their owners. The information is held in a registered database.

Officials say all participants must register in advance by calling (954) 432-9000 ext. 249. Only dogs and cats will be chipped with a limit of two pets per household.
