Heat Halt Skid With Comeback Win

The Heat erased a large deficit to put an end to a three-game losing streak on Friday

The Miami Heat fought back for a 98-95 win over the Denver Nuggets on Friday to end a three-game skid.

Miami trailed by 16 at the half and appeared to be on its way to a fourth straight loss on the current road trip. That all changed with a 14-point advantage in the third quarter for Miami. Both teams kept the came close in the fourth quarter with the game going down to the wire.

Miami was without the services of Goran Dragic, Dwyane Wade and Chris Andersen for the game due to several injuries. Dragic and Andersen will miss the rest of Miami's road trip, while Wade could return for the team's next game.

The injuries meant other players needed to step up and that head coach Erik Spoelstra had to manage the game with a smaller rotation. Miami ended up having nine players see action with Beno Udrih nearly leading the team in minutes played. Udrih has been a reserve most of the season, but was very productive in this one.

Udrih ended up playing 37 minutes in which he posted 11 points and 11 assists to give him his first double-double as a member of the Heat. This was the second straight start for Udrih, who is likely to once again start in place of Dragic next game.

Hassan Whiteside posted yet another big line of his own with 19 points and 17 rebounds. The center also added 11 blocks in an exceptional game across 38 minutes of play.

Chris Bosh contributed 24 points, three rebounds and a block of his own while serving as one of Miami's main offensive weapons.

The Heat will complete their long road trip on Sunday when they travel to Oklahoma City for a game against the Thunder.
