A Hialeah man was behind bars Thursday accused of sexual battery on a 15-year-old girl.
Idelsio Hechavaria, 37, was arrested Wednesday on charges of sexual battery on a victim between 12 and 17, as well as lewd and lascivious molestation, according to a Hialeah Police arrest report.
Hechavaria appeared in court Thursday where he was ordered held on $17,500 bond. He has been appointed a public defender.
According to the report, Hechavaria befriended the girl in April through Facebook Messenger. On May 6, the teen went to his apartment where he kissed her on the mouth, the report said.
The girl went back to his apartment on May 11 and they kissed again before he fondled her, the report said.
After his arrest, Hechavaria admitted to communicating with the teen but denied that she was ever in his apartment or that he touched her, the report said.
Hechavaria is married and works in construction and has no prior arrests, it was revealed in court.
