Hollywood Beaches Test for Bacteria…Again

Another health advisory for waters in Hollywood, Dania

Broward County health officials are once again advising swimmers to stay away from certain Hollywood beaches after water tests showed high levels of bacteria.

The water at the beaches at Minnesota, Custer and Harrison streets and the area near the Dania Beach pier didn't meet recommended state requirements when they were tested earlier this week, officials said.

Swimming in the water there could cause gastroenteritis, also known as a stomach flu.

Broward Health Officials tested the water again Wednesday, and the results of those tests will be made available Thursday.
