‘Latin American Music Awards' to Debut on Telemundo

The very first installment of the "Latin American Music Awards" will debut this Thursday on NBC Universal's Spanish network Telemundo.

The newly created Spanish-language spin-off of "Dick Clark's American Music Awards" airs live from Hollywood's legendary Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.

The groundbreaking ceremony is set to follow the AMAs classic award show format with an A-list of Latin performers like Daddy Yankee, Yandel, Farruko, Gloria Trevi, Paulina Rubio, hosted by Latin America’s sweetheart actress and singer from Mexico Lucero.

The Latin AMAs honors the year's most influential and iconic Latin artists as voted by the fans. Included in the nominations are Reggaeton's Nicky Jam and JBalvin, Bachata artist Romeo Santos, and Latin-pop artists Enrique Iglesias, Selena Gomez, Ricky Martin, Mana and Calibre 50.

A special tribute to the late Celia Cruz will highlight and commemorate the Queen of Salsa's career with special singing contributions from Colombia's urban singer Maluma, Puerto Rico's salsa singer India, Mexico's 80's pop superstar Yuri and singer and actress Aymée Nuviola who portrays Cruz in Telemundo's bio series "Celia" set to air on Oct. 13.
