Romero Britto Accused Stalker in Court

The man accused of stalking Romero Britto was ordered once again to stay away from the artist and his Miami Beach art gallery in court Thursday.

Kerry Pierre, 33, of Miramar, has a history of making violent threats against Britto and the employees of his gallery located at 818 Lincoln Road.

Pierre was arrested in 2007 after entering the gallery on multiple occasions, demanding money and threatening to kill Britto and his employees.

He was sentenced to three years in state prison, but upon release, continues to make the same threats, according to police.

According to an arrest form, Pierre went to the gallery multiple times in the past month making the same threats, most recently on Wednesday evening where police found Pierre walking behind the gallery.

Police say Pierre told them he was there to get his money. When reminded of the no trespass order against him, Pierre told police he would keep coming back and threatened harm to Britto and gallery employees, which led to his arrest and transport to the Miami Beach Police Station for processing.

A judge entered a stay away order against Pierre, barring him from Britto's home and place of business.

Pierre was appointed a public defender, as he claimed to be unable to afford an attorney.
