A South Florida man is behind bars after police say he sexually abused a young girl for more than eight years.
Philistin Paul, 49, was arrested last month by Fort Lauderdale Police on seven separate counts after the minor came forward and detailed the years of abuse to police.
According to the arrest report, the sexual abuse took place in two separate locations beginning when the girl was 7 and not ending until she was 16.
Paul told the girl not to tell of the abuse, telling her she'd be ashamed if she did, according to the report.
Police charged Paul with three counts of sexual battery and four counts of lewd and lascivious battery. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday and is being held in the Broward County Main Jail without bond.
