Teen Found Shot to Death in Pompano Beach

Authorities are investigating after a teen was found shot to death in Pompano Beach Wednesday morning

Authorities are investigating after a 19-year-old was found shot to death in Pompano Beach Wednesday morning.

The body of the victim, identified as Michael Lubitus, was found in the front yard of a home in the 800 block of Southwest 6th Court shortly after midnight.

Lubitus' brother, Richie Pierre Louis, said there was a group of men at the corner before the shooting. He said he's not sure if one of them is behind the shooting.

Broward Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene and are investigating the death.

Lubitus' family says he had been a student at Blanche Ely high, and was working to turn his life around. Last October, he was arrested for drug possession; now, his loved ones want his killer found.

"If you know something about it, just tell," Louis said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
