A man was transported to the hospital Tuesday after debris from a partial roof collapse at a Fort Lauderdale bar hit his head, authorities said.

Fort Lauderdale Police and Fire Rescue responded to the Elbo Room at 241 S. Atlantic Blvd. just before 4 p.m. after a section of the southeastern corner collapsed.

Debris from the 16-square-foot section hit the head of a man in his 50s, who was sitting under an umbrella. He was transported to Broward Health with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue spokesman Matt Little.

The business remains open, but the affected area was closed by police and firefighters.
