One man was shot near George Washington Carver Middle School Thursday, but no children are involved in the incident, police said.
The man’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, Miami Police spokesman Sgt. Freddie Cruz said.
A lockdown has been lifted at the middle school and George Washington Carver Elementary School, schools officials said. The lockdowns were put in place as a precaution, and no kids were in danger, they said.
The middle school is at 4901 Lincoln Drive in Coral Gables, near Coconut Grove.
The shooting occurred at 3028 Washington Drive, Cruz said.
