One man was in custody after two people were shot in Hialeah early Tuesday morning.

Details are limited on the shooting, which happened in the area of West 64th Street and 8th Avenue.

One woman was shot multiple times and a man was shot in the hand. Both were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital and were expected to be okay.

Footage showed a man in handcuffs surrounded by officers near the scene. Witnesses said police had been searching for the man in connection with the shooting.

"Out of nowhere a cop just knocked on our door and he told us we need to open up our back yard because he thought maybe this guy was there," witness Melissa Vega said.

Police haven't given any details of the shooting or identified the suspect.
