Florida Sen. Marco Rubio's staff will host an event on Thursday to help residents affected by Hurricane Irma sign up for FEMA assistance.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Council Chambers of the El Portal Village Hall, located at 500 NE 87th Street in Miami's El Portal village.
FEMA application checklists are available in English and Spanish.
Insurance experts from the Florida Department of Financial Services will be there to answer Floridians’ insurance-related questions and concerns, Rubio's office said.
The event is co-hosted by Miami-Dade County Vice Chairwoman Audrey Edmonson and Office of Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis.
