Miami Police were investigating a shooting at a Little Havana night club Sunday.

The shooting happened inside Joseph's Club at Northwest 7th Street near 20th Avenue.

The club's owner said the unidentified victim was denied entrance, but stormed back into the club as he was being chased by an unknown person, and then was shot.

The victim's mother, who was also unidentified, was panicked and overwhelmed as she stood outside the scene Sunday.

"My son, my son, they killed my son!" she screamed in Spanish.

Meanwhile, police have not confirmed the man has died, instead saying he was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

The floor of Joseph's was covered in blood and shattered glass as police investigated.

"He used to come here to party like everyone else," said Francisco Javier, a friend of the victim, in Spanish.

Officials have not yet named a suspect or a motive.
