In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the City of Miami Police Department is sporting pink badges.

The officers, who individually purchased the pink badges, donned the new look for the month of October, also known as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“If you see an officer with a pink badge, yes, he’s a real cop,” Police Chief Manuel Orosa said.

Proceeds from the badges will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure to help raise money for breast cancer awareness.

Blackington, which manufactured the badges, will donate 10 percent of the badge sales to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network and the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation.
