Miami Store Clerk Shot and Killed Protecting Wife

Victim worked at Fast Cash and Urban Wear

Police are on the hunt for an armed suspect who allegedly shot and killed a check store clerk during a robbery last month.

Salim Ullah, 34, was shot several times at the Fast Cash and Urban Wear shop located at 2675 NW 207 Street in Miami Gardens.

The unidentified suspect walked into the store at around 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 15 and pulled a gun as Ullah and his wife were getting ready for the day's business.

Ullah tried to take the gun from the man, but was eventually overpowered and shot. He was airlifted to the hospital where he died from his wounds.

The armed suspect then tried to take money, but couldn't get to the cash register, which was behind a bullet-proof casing where Ullah's wife had barricaded herself.

On Tuesday, police released surveillance video from the store that captured part of the crime.

A suspect has been described as a black male, wearing a black hat, green short sleeve shirt with an unknown patch on the shirt.
