Authorities were questioning a person of interest Thursday in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Dania Beach.
The person of interest contacted detectives Thursday, a day after the 57-year-old victim was struck and killed while crossing the street in the 2600 block of Griffin Road, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.
The person's identity wasn't released and no one has been charged in the crash. A damaged maroon Ford F-150 pickup that may have been involved was also recovered, authorities said.
According to the BSO, the victim wasn't in the crosswalk when he stepped into the path of the vehicle.
