Hollywood Police said they found an 11-month-old baby girl alone in an apartment Friday after a caller told them he could hear a child crying inside.

Police went to 1838 Funston St. Apt. No. 1 at 11:43 a.m. and “gained entry” into the home after no one answered the door, they said.

Hollywood Fire Rescue took the child to Memorial Regional Hospital as a precaution.

Police said they discovered that the child’s mother, Jevona Attley, is being held in the Broward County Main Jail on an unrelated charge.
