Police made a hospital call Friday at North Shore Medical Center after a patient alleged that they were the victim of a sexual assault at the hands of a hospital employee.

The medical centered confirmed that an employee was being questioned by police, but did not go into detail of the allegations.

"A patient has alleged inappropriate conduct by a nurse's aide at North Shore. We take such allegations very seriously. We immediately notified the Miami-Dade Police Department about the allegation and launched an internal review," a statement from the hospital read. "The safety and security of our patients is paramount. We will continue to cooperate fully with the investigation into this matter."

So far, no one has been arrested but police are still on the scene.
