Singer Kingston Still Critical but Stable

Miami-born artist remains hospitalized following jet ski crash

Miami-born singer Sean Kingston remains in critical but stable condition Tuesday following a jet ski crash, hospital officials said.

Kingston, 21, was moved from the trauma unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital to intensive care Monday, a day after he and a female passenger crashed into the Palm Island Bridge.

According to a report of the incident, Kingston and 23-year-old Cassandra Sanchez were riding the 11 and a half foot Sea-Doo when they somehow crashed into the bridge around 6 p.m. Sunday.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman Jorge Pino said both the "Beautiful Girls" singer and Sanchez were pulled from the water by a helpful boater. Investigators are still trying to determine exactly what caused the pair's craft to strike the bridge, though Pino said "nothing at this point would indicate that alcohol played a role."

Both were taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Sanchez's condition is unknown.

"Sean’s family asks for privacy at this time but is thankful to his friends, family and fans for their outpouring of prayers and well wishes," a statement issued Tuesday by Jackson read.
