A man in Marathon was arrested for theft after his ex-girlfriend turned over a box of sex toys the man allegedly stole during a burglary, police said.

Mitchell Tice, 39, told his girlfriend he'd found the box of bedroom baubles at a trailer behind the Banana Bay Resort and Marina where Tice works, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

It just so happened that there'd been a break-in at the trailer the night of January 10. As police investigated the break-in, they came across the now ex-girlfriend of Tice, who still had the box of sex toys.

The owner of the trailer identified the sex toys as his and said they were in the trailer at the time of the burglary.

Tice was arrested Sunday and charged with criminal mischief, burglary and theft.

The sex toys were returned to the owner, though we're not sure he wanted them back.
