Thief Stole iPhone From Sergeant Working Robbery Sting: BSO

A Lauderdale Lakes thief picked the wrong target when he swiped an iPhone from a Broward Sheriff's Office sergeant who was conducting a robbery sting, authorities said.

Nick Pierre, 22, is facing a robbery charge following his arrest Thursday, according to a Broward Sheriff's Office arrest report. He was being held on $1,000 bond Friday and it was unknown if he has an attorney.

According to the report, Sgt. Adam Rubin was working the sting in the 4000 block of Northwest 31st Avenue when Pierre swiped his iPhone from his shirt pocket.

Pierre fled on foot but Rubin managed to catch up to him and take him into custody, the report said.
