Police are investigating after $100,000 worth of sunglasses were stolen from an optical store in Doral.

The theft happened on Jan. 12 at Star Optical at 2263 Northwest 102nd Place when the suspects broke through a hole in the wall of the business, police said.

"We walked in to an alarm thinking it was shelving falling to the floor or something like that," said Gricel Piwko, of Star Optical. "We noticed the lights were on and we were being burglarized."

Surveillance cameras caught the suspects in action as they may their way through the store, grabbing sunglasses. They had just raided the optical store's upstairs office where personal items and cash were taken.

"It feels like your privacy is violated," Piwko said. They're going through your things so slowly like they have all the time in the world. They go through our papers, our personal items, and they took what they wanted like they were at home."

Police are asking for the public's help in finding the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
