Twin toddlers were rushed to the hospital after they were found in an apartment complex pool in Sunrise Thursday, officials said.

Sunrise Fire Department officials said they were dispatched to the Springtree apartment complex in the 3500 block of 85th Way for a report of a near-drowning.

A police officer and a firefighter jumped into the pool to pull the twin 2-year-olds out of the water, officials said.

They began performing CPR on the toddlers, a boy and a girl, who were in cardiac arrest. They were taken to Plantation General Hospital in critical condition, officials said.

    Neighbors were in shock.

"I broke down because it could have been my child,” Ericilda Joseph said.
