Weather Forecast: Heavy Afternoon Storms

Highs at 90, 60 percent chance of storms

    Weather forecast on this first day of summer and beyond (Published Saturday, Jun 21, 2014)

    Morning made way to afternoon storms Saturday.

    Highs were at 91 with a 60 percent chance of scattered storms.

    The National Weather Service issued a significant weather advisory Saturday afternoon for lightning, gusty winds from 45 to 55 mph and up to nickel-sized hail.

    Storms will continue rolling over South Florida through the evening.

    A 30 to 40 percent chance of isolated showers will remain in place through mid-week. Highs will remain in the low 90s.
