Miami Dolphins

Week 14 Preview: Ravens at Dolphins

The Dolphins will host the Ravens for the biggest game of the season thus far

The Miami Dolphins will take the field on Sunday looking to move ahead of the Baltimore Ravens in the standings.

Sunday's game is huge for both teams as they enter with identical 7-5 records with only four  short weeks to play. The loser of this game could ultimately miss the postseason due to the defeat.

Besides the head-to-head tiebreaker that will be decided in this contest, both teams are looking to improve their conference record. If three or more teams tie for a playoff spot, the tiebreaker will come down to their record in the AFC. There will be six teams tied at 7-5 entering Sunday's games with Miami currently holding the sixth and final playoff spot.

Miami received a big gift earlier this week when the NFL suspended Haloti Ngata of the Ravens. The defensive end has been a critical part of Baltimore's defense and is considered one of the best in the game. Ngata was suspended for a performance-enhancing substance violation and will miss the remainder of the regular season.

Ngata's absence will be felt in all aspects of Miami's offensive game. Ryan Tannehill will have one less man to worry about in terms of rushing him. Lamar Miller will find more room to run without the five-time Pro Bowl defender on the other side.

The Dolphins almost lost to the lowly New York Jets on Monday and will need a better effort against a talented Ravens squad. Tannehill for one had his poorest game in terms of passer rating since October 26th in Jacksonville. It was the first time this year that the quarterback failed to record a touchdown. The QB will likely need to find the end zone this time around if Miami hopes to beat Baltimore.

In the injury report, Miami has Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline listed as probable with both receivers expected to play. Charles Clay who missed Monday's game is listed as questionable for this one.

Sunday's game will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Sun Life Stadium.
