A woman was found dead inside a burning home in Northwest Miami-Dade Wednesday morning, officials said.

Firefighters responded to a report of a woman trapped inside the home on Northwest 63rd Street and 31st Avenue around 4:30 a.m., Miami-Dade Battalion Chief Danny Cardeso said.

One bedroom was on fire and the home was filled with heavy smoke when they arrived, Cardeso said.

Firefighters immediately began battling the blaze and started a search for the woman, who was found dead inside, Cardeso said.

The woman wasn't identified and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
