Police in Pensacola are searching for a suspect who punched a female cell phone store clerk in the face during a violent robbery caught on video.

The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. at a Boost Mobile store at 5039 Bayou Boulevard, Pensacola Police said.

Video showed the suspect, who had been in the store before, put his phone in his pocket as he approached the counter and punched the woman in the face.

The clerk was knocked to the ground as the suspect demanded she tell him how to open the cash register. The suspect grabbed the cash and the store's phone before leaving, police said.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police described the suspect as a black male, approximately six feet tall, with a thin build and medium complexion. Anyone with information is asked to call Pensacola Police at 850-435-1900.
