The ‘Canes will play host to the Miami University Redhawks on September 2nd of that year inside Hard Rock Stadium according to a report from FBSchedules.com. The website says the Florida program will pay the Oxford, Ohio based school $1.5 million for the one-time game.

The programs have met three times before, with the Hurricanes winning each game and the last meeting coming during the 1987 season.

In addition to their traditional ACC foes – including yearly games against rival Florida State and divisional foes Virginia Tech and North Carolina among others – the ‘Canes have beefed up their non-conference schedule for future seasons.

In 2019, Miami will face in-state rival Florida to open the season and crosstown rival FIU on November 23rd inside Marlins Park. The Hurricanes have games scheduled against Michigan State in 2020 and 2021, a 2021 season opener against Alabama in Atlanta, games against Texas A&M in 2022 and 2023 as well as five games over a nine season span against Notre Dame from 2024 to 2032.
