On Monday, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade released a short documentary giving fans an inside look at his own quest for a third NBA championship. Wade's documentary, "Journey to 3," was filmed during the 2013 NBA Finals, when the Heat overcame the San Antonio Spurs for the third title in franchise history.
Wade jokingly told reporters after Game 7 of the Finals that he would be henceforth known as "Three," both for his uniform number and the number of championships he has won with the Heat.
"Journey to 3" provides some insight into why the number 3 is so important to him, in addition to a trove of behind-the-scenes footage of Wade at home, in workouts, and in the Heat locker room.
Wade's Heat teammates, personal trainer, and even his kids make appearances in the film, which can be viewed at dwyanewade.com.
Wade and the Heat open the 2013-14 season on Oct. 29. They will be trying to do something only three franchises have done in NBA history: win a third straight NBA championship.
