Considering the Dolphins' rap sheet of late, Miami fans have little room to talk.

Not that it's going to stop them, now that New York Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards has been arrested for DUI mere days before the Dolphins-Jets Hate Week culminates in a Sunday showdown at Sun Life.

Surprisingly, Edwards didn't drop his blood alcohol level when pulled over (you know, like a football). He was busted for blowing a .16 -- double the state's legal limit -- on a Breathalyzer test, reports The New York Post.

Making matters worse -- or at least supremely, inconceivably stupid -- is that Edwards was in Manhattan, where one can hail eight cabs on every corner, and well within the reach of the NFL's program to pick up any player needing a lift home after a night out.

What does this mean for Sunday? The NFL likely won't discipline Edwards until the investigation is complete, but the Jets may sit him anyway. 

Already without Santonio Holmes, who's serving a four-game suspension for substance abuse, that would leave New York with a hilariously thin crew of wideouts: Jerricho Cotchery, David Clowney and Brad Smith are all that remain.

They will also play without star corner Darrelle Revis, who sustained a hamstring injury last week, and former Dolphins linebacker Jason Taylor (elbow) and linebacker Calvin Pace (foot) are questionable.

The team released a very terse statement when news of Edwards' arrest broke this morning.

"We are very disappointed in Braylon’s actions this morning. The Player Protect program is in place for our organization to prevent this situation. Braylon is aware of this program and showed poor judgment," Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum said. "We are reviewing the information with the league and will impose the appropriate disciplinary measures."

And so Hate Week begins.
