Heat Halt Four-Game Skid

The Heat put an end to a four-game losing streak with a win over the Nets on Sunday

The Miami Heat came away with a much needed win on Sunday over the Brooklyn Nets by a final score of 88-84.

Coming into the game, Miami had dropped four in a row and had fallen to six games under .500. With the victory, Miami stands at 15-20 this season and it remains eighth in the conference standings.

The win did not come easily for the Heat and it almost fell apart. Miami took a nine-point advantage into the locker room at the half and was outscored 44-39 in the second half. A couple of clutch free throws from Chris Bosh in the final seconds sealed the win for the Heat.

Bosh had himself yet another solid game with his 26 points and five rebounds in 39 minutes. The big man was also 3-4 from three-point range and had a steal.

Hassan Whiteside stepped up once again for Miami with his first career double-double. The center played a season-high 27 minutes and contributed 11 points, ten boards, five blocks and a steal. Whiteside was also highly efficient as he made five of his seven attempts.

Dwyane Wade also had a good game with his 25 points, seven assists, and six rebounds. Wade added a couple of steals along the way.

Finding production from its point guards continues to be a problem for Miami. Norris Cole and Mario Chalmers combined for eight points and three assists in their 48 minutes. Both players have seen time in the starting lineup this year but have been inconsistent.

The Heat will look to win another on Thursday when they take on the Blazers at the Moda Center in Portland.
