Heat Rookie Suspended By NBA for DUI

Kenny Hasbrouck will miss the first 2 games of the season

Th summer of the Miami Heat can't end quick enough for the team after the NBA handed down some more bad news on Friday.

Promising rookie guard Kenny Hasbrouck will be suspended for the first two games of the season after pleading guilty to a DUI in New York earlier this year.

It's not enough that the Heat are one of the most hated teams in professional sports, but now they are becoming a pretty regular target of the law.

Heat forward Udonis Haslem is fighting drug charges for an incident earlier this month and guard Carlos Arroyo recently had charges dropped after an arrest last year.

Hasbrouck, who was drafted in 2009, isn't counted on to be a major contributor for the Heat this year or even make the team, but he showed signs that he was ready to make the leap to bench player during the NBA summer league where he shot nearly 50 percent from three-point range and scored 14 a night.

The Heat have not commented on the suspension.
