Wade And See: Burnie Still Perched on Arena

Burnie is a mascot of his word

While Miami Heat fans go crazy over the news Dwyane Wade is staying and bringing along some superstar help, the fanatic with the most to gain from the latest free agent news hasn't moved.

It's not that Burnie doesn't trust D-Wade. It's more like he is a mascot of his word.

Burnie has been atop AmericanAirlines Arena for a week now in an effort to pressure Flash into speeding up his free agent decision, but his pledge was not for an announcement.

Burnie isn't coming down until Wade signs on the dotted line. Free agents aren't allowed to sign their contracts before July 8.

So while Wade and Chris Bosh talked about joining forces on South Beach to bring another NBA title to Miami-Wade County, Burnie wasn't watching.

He was playing the drums in the sweltering heat.

Maybe if Wade paid Burnie a visit and personally gave the mascot his word that he was re-signing with the Heat, the maniac would come down.

So suicidal mascot watch continues, but hopefully Burnie won't die of heat stroke before Wade officially signs with the team.
